Hi everyone. I see there are lots of positive review in this page. However, my experience with Alan Mance Nissan at Melton was the poorest one. It was full of unprofessionalism, misbehaviour/disrespect, miscommunication, misleading information, false advertisement, false promise, and bunch of lies / hiding the truth about the car I bought etc etc etc. In fact, some of the staff’s behaviour, to me, can be considered as the symbol of racism, I guess. On 25/11/2018, I have visited Nissan Melton (Allan Mance Nissan) to buy a car due to my existing Toyota Corolla has broken down. I approached a sales person by the name of Russel. He was good at the time I met him. We discussed about the different options of the cars and came to know that they have free $750 worth of Nissan accessories new and 7 years extended warranty / 175000km on any new cars to buy. He also advised me that the offers ends on 25/11/2018. On the day I just started shopping around for the car. I was sure to buy Nissan this time. However, wasn’t sure about the price and whether I will go for finance or cash buy. Therefore, I negotiated the price for Nissan X-Trail 7 seats, Ivory Perl colour and paid $500 deposit to secure Nissan accessories and 7 years extended warranty offer based on his advice. He gave me the price for accessories to fit within the $750 worth of free offer and also agreed to give me free carpet mats. In fact, he wrote $0 next to the price list on the quote given to me. At that time, I mentioned that I will speak to my bank to add car loan on my home loan and will take some time. After talking to his boss he said shouldn’t be an issue. In 2 days’ time, he called me and was asking for the list of accessories I want. I advised him to wait another few days as I am still waiting to get a response from my bank. Once I get confirmation of the finance will see him and add the free accessories I want. Then on the following day I received a call from Russel advising that Nissal Xtrail Ivory pearl colour is no longer available. He offered me to buy Nissal Xtrail S-TL which is $7000 more than Nissan Xtrail ST. (He supposed to hold Nissan Xtrail ST for me as I put deposit of $500 on day 1 I met him, as per agreement). Then I got verbal confirmation from my bank. So I went to see Russel. As I can’t afford Nissan Xtrail S-TL I have decided to buy Nissan Qashqai S-TL. At the time, I have been told though it is a demo car there is nothing wrong with it and it is 2018 model car. So I signed the contact for that. However, he and his boss (Steve) decided not to give me the Nissan Accessories what I have secured on day 1 by depositing $500.00. As mentioned before, the offer was for any new car to buy. I changed my mind to buy Nissan Qashqai as they didn’t hold the Nissan Xtrail ST car for me what they should. Steve was very rude and arrogant and not showing any respect what so ever, so was Russell. He was threatening me to leave the shop by taking my deposit. I had valid argument. 1. Advertisement was for free accessories for any model of the new car 2. I secured the offer by depositing $500 on the day as they said 3. They didn’t keep the promise by not holding the car I paid deposit for 4. They have now decided not to give me the free accessories and forcing me to pay for the accessories From Steve and Russel’s behaviour at the point of buy, I feel like I am the victim of racism. Why? - At the same time Steve was serving another customer with respect. On the other hand, they didn’t show any respect to me and was too loud to me which makes me shocked. While I was waiting for written confirmation from my bank I called Russel again advising if there is any cooling off time just in case if I don’t get final / written confirmation for finance from the bank. He asked me to speak to his sales manager Lawson. Before started talking to me, Lawson was saying to Russel that he will take me to the court if I decide not to buy the car from him and my deposit will be forfeited, which I heard clearly. I asked Lawson in what ground he will take me to the court since it was a simple enquiry to know if there is any cooling off period of the contact I signed for. He just started shouting at me saying there is no cooling off period and I must lose my deposit and hang up on me. I have then checked the document and found still I can cancel my contact and he simply lied to me. He is the most arrogant, rude individual I have ever seen in my life. His attitude is also a symbol of racism, I feel. The only person I met at this shop while picking up the car was Adam from servicing area. He wanted to give me floor matt free of cost. However, Lawson stopped him. He promised to give me the matt on my 1000km servicing. On 17/01/2019 I met Adam for 1000km servicing. He went in for floor matt. Someone brought that to the desk. Russel in the meantime approached me and asking how he felt because of my feedback provided to Nissan. He then asked me what I have written. I requested him to go through the feedback I sent. He left but whispered Adam not to give me the floor matt and that wasn’t given to me. I asked Adam about that and he advised me that Russel basically stopped giving me the floor matt. This is not the end. Later on I found 2 things: 1. Car was built in 2017. They lied to me saying the car was 2018 model. 2. There was a safety recall letter sent to them by Nissan Motor Australia since they registered the car under Alan Mance Nissan to use it as a demo car. They didn’t disclose that to me at the point of sale. I found, Russel gave me the false and misleading information in regards to the free accessories as he asked me to pay deposit to secure the offer and he then denied. On their website it was clearly says with any new car free accessories offer apply. If not, it is a false advertisement. 2nd, Russel provided me misleading information saying the car made 2018, which wasn’t. This is fraud. 3rd, Nissan safety recall notification not been disclosed to me at the point of sale.
