So, yesterday I called Caloundra City Autos before making the drive into the dealership to have a chat with a sales consultant about buying a new Mitsubishi Triton. With the big sale on I thought I'd see what Caloundra City could do for me... My phone call got transferred to a sales consultant by the name of Toni Matheson. I gave her the prices I had been offered through another dealership, to which she said to come on into the store that she would be able to at least do the same plus I could go in the competition they were running to win accessories/services/cash etc. I specifically said to Toni, “So if I come in there you can at least match that price if not better it?” Toni's reply was “Yes Dylan, come on in I promise I wont waste your time we're running a massive sale and have competitions running...” So I drive into the dealership and found Toni, she grabbed my keys straight away and went off for 20mins to inspect my car for trade in value. She then took me inside and sat me down at a table where we went over what I wanted and the prices I had been offered elsewhere again. I then sat at that table for around 30-40 mins while she went over the pricing between her and her sales manager. After all this time she came back to the table and said that she cant do anything for me to go back to the other dealership and buy it (by the way are Cricks Sunshine Coast who I couldn’t rate their friendly service more highly) but not before saying "once you realise they've ripped you off with a hail damaged car or no capped price servicing come back and see me." So, now because she can’t match what they can offer she slanders another company...what a great sales technique. I said "Toni, I called ahead and gave you pricing so this wouldn’t happen, you told me you wouldn’t waste my time and I've sat here for over an hour now wasting my time." to her reply "It's never wasted time when your with me Dylan." While she walked away... I couldn't believe the arrogance of her... I've never written a bad review before so this shows how much this experience annoyed me. That afternoon I went back to Cricks in Maroochydore and bought a new Triton. Afterwards, I was telling a few friends about this bad experience at Caloundra City Autos, to which they only had bad reviews also. If you can, I'd stay well clear of this company, especially Toni unless you want to overpay and get terrible service...
