On our trade in, the salesman and other members of the Rahal team went to great length to explain how they believed paint work to the vehicle had caused it to be valued below the book trade in value. Within a day of the deal the dealership put our vehicle up for sale on your site (not auctioned) and listed it with the indication that it was above book value for purchase. I completely understand that there is a difference between trade in and sale values and I understand the need for the dealer to make money. However, when we are told it is worth less than book and then advertised for sale as above book value, it causes a several thousand dollar extra swing. This leads me to question the honesty of the dealership.
