If I could give 0 stars I would. I dropped my bike off for an issue that was covered by warranty. My motorcycle is my primary form of transportation, and I travel for work.
I mentioned when I dropped it off a pin that goes bad that is part of the DCT transmission to Mike (service manager). They didn't check the part.
I call a few days later asking if they had fixed it yet, they said no and didn't know what the problem was. Mike mentioned that Honda Tech Line had mentioned the part that I mentioned when I dropped it off. Although they DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT.
Fast forward 2 1/2 months when I now have all my credit cards maxed out, I am behind on the payments for the bike that they have in the shop, and I am struggling to pay rent, all because I can't use the bike they havn't been able to fix.
District service manager from Honda America comes in, GOES RIGHT FOR THAT PART THAT BOTH MYSELF AND THE TECH LINE TOLD THEM TO CHECK WEEK ONE, AND FIGURES OUT THAT IT IS THE PROBLEM.
I get a call from my case manager at Honda America (I called to complain because I felt helpless), she explains to me that it is the same part they where asked to check, and that it should have been fixed within a week.
I go to talk to Scott (general manager) about this issue. He tells me "THERE IS NO WAY IT'S THAT PART, THEY ARE INSTALLING IT RIGHT NOW, I LOOKED AT IT, IT'S FINE."
I ask him to call me later that day, because I don't believe him. When I go to leave the shop I see my bike all put together being tested (about 12:00PM). By 5:30PM I still have not received a call, so I call.
Bike is fixed, although now they swear they where never asked to check that part, they claim they where asked to check the bolt holding that part in.
I go to pick it up THERE IS PAINT ON A SIDE PANEL! I point it out, I'm asked "are you sure it wasn't there before?" That panel is new because another dealership dropped the bike and replaced it just a month before this problem, so yes, I'm sure.
THEY THEN TRY TO UP SALE ME AND ASK ME TO BUY A NEW CHAIN AND SPROCKETS.
I HAVE NO MONEY, HAVEN'T WORKED IN TWO AND A HALF MONTHS BECAUSE THEY ARE INCOMPETENT.
They offer to "give me a deal" on the chain and sprockets, as well as the 32,000 mile service that it needs "half off labour, and their price + 10% for parts. STILL MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE DEALERSHIP I NORMALLY GO TO.
I just called American Honda again, just to double check before posting this, and they confirmed that they asked them to check this part in the first week they had my bike.
I NOW HAVE TO MAKE THE CHOICE, LOSE MY HOUSE BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD RENT, OR LOSE THE BIKE BECAUSE I'M BEHIND IN PAYMENTS. ALSO, I CAN'T AFFORD THE PARTS AND SERVICE I NEED DONE TO CONTINUE TO DO MY JOB TO PAY FOR THESE THINGS.
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM, AND DO NOT TAKE YOUR BIKE TO THEM FOR SERVICE.
THEY LIED TO MY FACE MULTIPLE TIMES, AND WILL DO THE DAME TO YOU.
