Having had a good experience buying the car from John Hughes and hearing about the legendary service I was expecting the same from the service department. He saw clearly that the car was overheating so went back to the workshop. We went for a test drive with the foreman who was very helpful. As we drove away my phone rang asking me to authorise an hours labor at $185 to diagnose the problem. I queried this as we had paid top money for the so called best extended warranty money could buy. I was also dubious as we had previously taken the car back for another fault and they charged $185 for diagnosing and never found the problem. They insisted that this was needed so I finally agreed. Later in the day they rang and said that the fault was the thermostat. They then said they would ring the warranty company to discuss. Makes you a bit unnerved when you buy a top price warranty, and then they charge before they will even look at your car. The car also has a suspected transmission fault so lets hope that goes smoothly.
Patrick at John Hughes was great to deal with. He was sensitive to our needs for a good quality, reliable car at the price point we had set for ourselves. We couldn't be happier with our purchase. Many thanks to Patrick & John Hughes.
