Overall our visit was great. Our sales team, Gunter and Devon were helpful, Ralph in finance did a great job and Michael in service/delivery made the final walk through painless. Thank you Michael and your team for fixing minor things so quickly.
In January of 2015, I purchased a Keystone, Outback Diamond series Fifth wheel. While in finance we were given the sales pitch for the Maxxgard protection system. We were told it was something that we differently needed because it would save our couch from the sun fading and keep the fabrics from staining. After 2 years we noticed the front cap of the 5th wheel was fading. I had it detailed, in hopes of it bringing its color back, which it did not. Do to health issues, we covered the 5th wheel and put it in storage for 9 months. Early summer we decided to get it cleaned up and ready for a trip. Upon removing the cover we discovered the end cap looked even worst than before. That's when we decided it was unacceptable and contacted Mike Thompson about the Maxxgard warranty process. We where told that they have nothing to do with it and had to contact Maxxgard directly. However, that paperwork was not attached to our purchase agreement. I was told I had to contact the RV Sales Finance Mgr, who was out of the office for a week, he was the only one who could help me. After 2 weeks. I was able to get a hold of a Finance Mgr in Palm Springs who told me to call the Santa Fe Springs office. After another week I was able to get the needed information from them. I was then able to contact Maxxgard who emailed me the necessary paperwork. Filled out the first sheet electronically and a week later received an email denying my claim because it was not filed within 60 from the first notice of fading. I've called several times, left messages on voice mail and not yet received a response. Mike Thompson should stand behind a product that they promote so vigorously. Don't waste your money on Maxxgard or the extended warranty with ECP cause they were looking for any excuse to dispute my claim.
We were told from our sales person in order to see if we qualified for credit that we had to put down $5000. We are in Oregon so only saw the RV on the website so obviously a bit skeptical until we actually walked thru it. We were told we would get a full refund if we backed out, that this was just for the credit report. So we signed the papers, gave our credit card number and were told a financial adviser would be calling which he never did. We backed out because we still had to sell our home, truck, other RV, etc...got scared. Then got told NO REFUND!! WHAT? And they will sell this RV no problem.. It's a 2018 Vanleigh Beacon. If we knew we wouldn't get our deposit back, we would have never agreed to it till we actually were able to fly to LA to walk thru it. WE GOT SCREWED OUT OF $5000 FROM MIKE THOMPSON'S RV. BEWARE,they totally scammed us. Very untrustworthy. I would give 0 stars but it wouldn't let me. We are blue collar workers, not made of money. We were going to live in it. Now $5000 poorer. BAD BUSINESS MIKE THOMPSON'S.
