I needed two recalls taken care of. I made an appointment 3 weeks in advance , planning my day as I do not live near the dealership. I made it clear when I scheduled the appointment that I could not leave the car overnight. When I brought the car in at 9:30 am, i reminded the adviser of that and he said that they would do their best. I called at 3:45 and was told that they had just put the car up on the rack and would not be done that day. Oh, and by the way, we can't open the hood. I had opened the hood myself a few days earlier to refill the windshield washer fluid.
I told them to not do the work, as I could not leave the car overnight and would be down to pick it up. When I got there the car was ready in a few mintues. I tried to open the hood and it did not open. I told them I would reschedule for the recall work.
On my way back to my office about 35 minutes away, I was surprised to find that I had NO HEAT. It was 7 degrees that day and the next days were to be even colder. I called before I even finished the drive. I was told it was coincidental that when I brought the car in for the recall work that the heater stopped working while at the dealership service department. SO I had brought in a fully functional car for routine recall service, and at the end of the day, after two round trips of over an hour, I had a car that now had no heat and a hood that could not open.
The adviser told me to bring the car back in two days-- I scheduled three weeks ahead in the first place because I can not take time off at short notice. So the adviser die arrange to have a driver come to my office and give me a loaner for a day and they did the recall work. The driver expressed his unhappiness that he had to drive back to Sewickley in an unheated car.
I was quoted $400 to fix the cable so that the hood would open. I was told they would reduce the labor cost due to the "miscommunication" regarding the fact that they could not meet my requirements for same day service on the original appointment. Imagine my surprise when I was charged $414 for the work. I called and was told they had taken 10% off of the labor charges. I called and was told that it would have been $460 without the deduction.
So I was charged more than originally quoted, even after the deductions.
I called to speak to the manager on 1/30/2019. i was told he was not in that day and I could leave a message and he would call me back. I left a detailed message.
I am still waiting for the call back.
