I'll title this "Exceeding Expectations". First let me say my wife and I do not care for the smoke and mirrors process, scripted sales tactics, and stretching the truth techniques that so many dealerships follow. We know these tactics work on many people and can generate higher sales but for us that emphasis is on the wrong thing. The reason we drove over an hour and considered Spangler in the first place is because they got an A+ for major service work 6 years ago on my 2006 Outback. I am VERY particular about quality of work and delivering as promised. Buying this car was a truly wonderful experience and exceeded our expectations. As far as we are concerned our salesman Mark Neeson is outstanding in his field. His character is as genuinely good and trusting as they come. Does NOT fit stereotypical salesperson! This is rare today because many dealers push their sales people using proven sales methods that net the most sales but the downside is less than satisfied customers. We were pleasantly surprised and felt blessed to find a salesperson this down to earth, professional, and knowledgeable. We felt like Mark was more of a Concierge at a hotel who was there to help educate us and finding what was best for "US" instead of pushing an agenda and selling what they could make the most profit on. We never felt pressured, or like we were being held prisoner (if you've been car shopping you know what I'm talking about) while there nor did we feel like we were being put through the typical cat and mouse game. An example of a sales tactic we don't like is every other dealer we've visited asks right up front "what do you want your monthly payment to be" which to us is the smoke screen that prevents you from knowing exactly what you are paying for the vehicle, not to mention it is insulting to an educated buyer. Just tell us what price you will sell the car for and we'll figure out the rest. That tactic never happened with Mark. Some folks may be OK with that tactic but it shouldn't be assumed. Delivery of the vehicle was as perfect and smooth as possible. Every promise kept, no surprises. Denise in finance was on her A-game being fully prepared with paperwork in perfect order. Mark took ample time to go over the car's many features to insure we understood them. The high level of our experience all starts with the salesperson and that effort needs to be backed up by a dealership owner/manager who supports them and sets protocol for the team. I could go on but I think you get the message. If the things I mentioned are important to you when spending your hard earned money, call Spangler and ask for Mark Neeson. You will not regret it.
