After 48 years of life, I recently learned that I have congenital right hip dysplasia. So, basically, my hip has been deteriorating since birth and this past year, it has really let me know that it has reached a tipping point. In November 2015, I returned to Stretch Physical Therapy for my second round of therapy to strengthen that hip. From January through February 2016, I took advantage of the one-on-one stretching sessions at Stretch for my tight right leg/hip muscles. Both the second round of therapy and recent stretching sessions, along with home stretching exercises, have aided me in regaining strength and mobility in my right hip. I still have limited range of motion with my right hip, but that is a function of the congenital condition. A hip replacement is in my future, but thankfully, the staff at Stretch Physical Therapy has set me on the path and provided me with some tools to delay the inevitable for years (hopefully) to come! Thank you, ladies!
I have had FM for a years now. I've went to the Cleveland Clinic, Mayo, multiple doctors etc. with no relief for the pain or a diagnosis. I started here 2 weeks ago and was introduced to Kim. Because of her kindness and knowledge she saw that my pelvis was aligned correctly. She taught me how to readjust it and it relieved a lot of SI pain that I have had for years! On that very day when I got into my car to my amazement I was able to reach for my seatbelt and fasten it w/o any pain!! I almost cried with overwhelming joy. It's going to be a very long road of therapy, education and diligence on my part but thanks to Stretch I finally have hope for relief from my chronic pain and w/o medicines ????. Thank you Kim, Stacey and Britney for giving me hope again ????
I started with extreme pain on the right side of my neck, trap and shoulder on 2/6/2015. I couldn't watch tv, sit in church or drive a car for any length of time without having extreme pain in my neck and trap. By May I found out that I had a bulging disc in my neck. After six weeks of physical therapy and two cortisone shots in my neck, I still had pain. Nothing worked.
By the end of June I decided I needed to take better care of my self. Through Thumbtack I found Stretch Physical Therapy & Total Wellness. On July 1st I started taking stretch classes at Stretch and by fall I saw a PT there for my neck and trap pain. Within just a few months, they addressed my problem and I am happy to say that I am pain free! I can do all the things I want to do now without any pain. I am very thankful for Stretch and all of the people there who helped me!
Back in May I had injured my back having a great time at a concert. I had radiating pain down my leg and couldn't get any answers. After bring in pain constantly for 3 weeks I had an MRI that showed a very large herniated disc in my low back. Hoping the surgery would fix the pain down my leg, I had surgery to remove part of the disc. At this point I was looking for a quick fix. I learned that there is no such thing.
I showed up to Stretch a month after surgery for some PT to prepare me for returning back to work. They took my pain seriously and began to connect the dots. We learned that I had several issues contributing to my pain and the surgery only fixed one. Through months of work with the whole staff we stabilized and targeted the problems until I began to see improvements. At one point, about halfway through the process, I re injured my back by wearing heels to a wedding. I thought I was back to square one and felt defeated. But once the spasm settled down I found that everything we had been doing In PT made a huge difference in my recovery time. I didn't even feel the need to get more tests run because we fixed the problem at PT! Overall, I learned to be more aware of my body which has helped me control any discomfort that flares up. I feel much more independent and in control. It's a long road (in my case very long) but so worth it. You only get one body and in my experience, the long road of PT is the only way to really have peace of mind.
I've been going to Stretch for over three weeks for issues with plantar fasciitis in one foot. In that short time I've seen a lot of progress with the injury. My pain is less frequent and reduced and my flexibility has increased.
I've been a runner for a few years and in that time have had several nagging injuries (sprained MCL, ongoing meniscus issues, torn labrum in hip). Each physical therapist I've dealt with for those injuries has focused on the specific injury, and strengthening the appropriate area. What's different with Stretch is they are working with me from hip to toe on alignment, strength and flexibility. They understand my goal is to get back to running soon, and train for a half marathon in the spring. They've taken video of my running form twice, and took the time to make shoe recommendations. The therapists check on me on off days to see how my pain is.
I've had good experiences with physical therapists in the past, but I've been truly impressed by the therapists at Stretch. I love the attention and holisitic approach they are taking with getting me back on track with my running goals.
The first thing I was impressed with at Stretch was the atmosphere. Every therapist who worked with me had a positive attitude and a positive way of communicating with me. Their positive attitude soon began to become a part of my attitude. Everyone with whom I worked was easy to talk with and knew what they were talking about.
I had pain in my back, and especially my lower back. The staff was very knowlegable about my condition.
I would recommend Stretch to anyone who was having pain in their back or anywhere else.
Everyone new my name when I came in and it was always welcoming being greeted with a smile when I entered the building. They worked me good and were very sensitive to how I was feeling even offering water throughout my treatment. It was a good experience for me because I met some wonderful people and they were able to take away my back pain.
Have had tightness in both hips when walking short distances resulting in taking only short walks. This weekend after completing 14 treatments I was able to walk 1.37 miles without any problems except muscle fatigue but no pain.
I started going to Stretch mid-October for Achilles Tendinitis in both ankles. So bad that in the morning it took me about 5 minutes of limping before I could walk normal (but still with discomfort). Within 3 weeks I was able to get up in the morning and walk, and was pain free throughout the day. Kim, Brittney, and Stacy do a great job of explaining the exercises you need to perform at home, and the mobility and manual PT they perform in the office separates Stretch from any other PT experience I have had. I am 100% satisfied with the service and would definitely recommend Stretch. In fact I am now having them work on a chronic shoulder issue and I am already seeing results.
I had suffered from tightness in my spine and hip joints, with also pelvic rotation for longer than I can recall. I came to Stretch after failing at multiple attempts to heal my own body. It was the best decision I made, because the therapists there gave me a proper diagnosis instantly on my first visit. The degree of personalized therapy, in addition to the take home exercises that I was given, has allowed to make heal at a very significant rate. I was a very eager patient and happy to follow their instructions closely. At the moment I'm around 80% of where I would like to be, long term, and that's more than I could ever done on my own. I would recommend Stretch to anyone with any neuromuscular or persistent pain of dysfunction issues.
