"Rip Off - Win Cash & Cars Is Completely Bogus"
I received a flier in the mail for the Walker Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram big Cash & Cars sales event on Loop Road in Centerville, Ohio. The flier came with a poker chip attached. Of course my chip matched the top prize of $25,000 as well as the $1,000 prize. I received the flier on Saturday, October 18, 2015. The flier says to call 844-442-1234 Immediately if your poker chip number matches one of the prize numbers. I called the number and the recording congratulates you as a winner and to report to the dealer immediately! My wife and grandkids headed to the dealership on Saturday to see what we won. We get there and they say that the event does not start until Tuesday, October 21, 2015. My question then was why the recording did not indicate this fact but said to report to the dealer "immediately"!. So I figure okay I will go on Tuesday after work. I get there and they had me take a seat at one of their many tables setup in the showroom. After a few minutes salesman, Nate G. starts gathering my info and lays on his sales pitch. I can understand this and was fine with it. After the sales pitch, he tears out the bogus check from the flier and says I could get that amount toward a new car purchase. He then takes me to the window of the dealership to check which prize my numbers match up to. Of course it was the bottom prize of $1 - $100. I followed Nate to the sales managers desk. I was standing there for a bit to select my envelope. Well, Nate tells me to take a seat at the table. I sat there for a few minutes and then he brings me an envelope with my prize. The fine print on their flier CLEARLY states an envelope will be randomly selected BY THE CUSTOMER! Well I DID NOT get to select my envelope! I ask you, why did the salesman NOT want me standing there while the sales manager "selected" (or did he prepare) my envelope? I ask you, was the salesman telling the sales manager, "This looks like no sale." Did the manager, just put $1.00 in an envelope? When, I received the envelope from the salesman, it did appear to be freshly sealed (still damp). I believe that only folks who appear to be a potential sale probably have better odds. Regardless, Walker Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram violated their contest rules by NOT letting me select my own envelope which is clearly stated in the fine print. I called Walker Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram on Loop Road in Centerville, Ohio when I got home to ask why I did not get to select my own envelope and they hung up on me!!! Pretty suspicious!! Maybe they did not expect anybody to call them to the carpet on what appears to be a fraudulent contest! I will NEVER do business with Walker Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Centerville, Ohio! DO NOT fall for their scam just to get people into their dealership. If you received tone of their fliers I suggest pointing out the fine print in their flier and selecting your OWN envelope!
