I bought a Honda HRV and have experienced bad and poor service at western Honda Caroline Springs.
We owned the HRV for closed to two years now and unfortunately the car is now under big problems.
My wife is the one driving the car. At around 4 pm, on Friday 16th of Feb 2018 going back home from picking up my daughter from school. It is normal route that she always taking everyday. On that day, while driving slowly along the Brunton street going back home, she heard an unusual and loud bang at the front of the car. She taught that she crushed on the car approaching her, at that big impact she also hit her head on the steering wheel. Because of her confusion, she manage to calm down and able to park the car on the side of the street due to another car at her back. My daughter was also shocked for what was happened.
They came out of the car and inspect the body and look if there is any damaged. Surprisingly no damaged or dent was seen on the car. Not flat tyre either.
When they managed to drive the car along The Grange road in a very slowly speed, they smell a burning rubber and then decided to completely park the car along The Grange road.
They call me during the time and told them to wait for me and call road assistance.
RACV mechanic came and inspect the car and told them it is not safe to drive the car because of mechanical fault drive train or possible trans malfunction. He organised the towing and advised to bring it to Honda western Caroline Springs.
We coordinated the problem to WestenHonda service. Steve, the manager told us that Henry, the service manager, will come to look what happen since its almost late in the evening.
Henry inspected the car and saw the tie rod was totally bent and damaged. He advise to park it in Western Honda so they can analyse what happens.
Tuesday, 20 Feb 2018, My wife ring Henry in the office and told her to come by to show some stuff. When we came the other day they explained to us that my wife hit a big thing that causes the tie rod to bent and snap. But in our defense my wife told them she does not hit anything. Because no damage was seen on the under cover of the engine and no scratches on the any metal parts,
Steve and one of Honda mechanic insist that we hit something and Steve told us to contact our insurance and bring the car to auto repair since the chassis moved and misaligned which Honda cannot fix.
I got no good advise when I ask Steve what to do. Completely taking out his responsibility on the car which in reality they are the one doing all the service work.
They told me to remove the car immediately and look for auto repair shop to repair the misalignment. They can’t do anything he said. Steve not even bother to help us what to do and how to process insurance since this is the first time we experience it.
To cut it short, I bring the car to McIntyre auto repair shop. They done separate investigation on what happen. They advise me to get the service report for WesternHonda. Call Henry of Honda and promised me he wil send the service report Thursday 22 Feb. COB. Unfortunately when I call around 5pm on the same day, Henry told me that he can’t send the service report as per advise of Steve.
Is there any hidden agenda here? We are being transparent to them and now we can’t get any service report which in my opinion should be an SOP of the company.
Steve wake up. Man-up. Take responsibility. Honda is at stake here if you are hiding something.
