Let me preface this by saying the front desk at the service department was great. My rep Shelby was always kind and professional with me so in no way does this reflect upon them. I never ever write reviews. I’m an Air Force veteran retired after 20 years. I would like to think that my opinion holds some weight. My troubles started at the end of July. After coming back from overseas and getting back to my car I noticed the vehicle light was on. And my headlight was out. I took my car to this place because my mother told me this would be a great place to take it. Now funds were low for me. I had just retired. I took my car there. It was an expensive fix they told me I needed to replace a pigtail and something was wrong with an evap code. Ok no problem. When I enter to pick up my car all was well and I thought wow good service and now I can drive my car but that was not the case. 2 weeks later the engine light can back on. I was a little mad but figured it’s just a car thing and it needs to be addressed. I was told oh some part was broken and the same codes came back and I was assured it would be fixed. They called me and I picked it up and all was well or so I thought. 1 week later the light came back on again. Took it back and then they said the same code came back and plus another code ….ok well can it be fixed. They assured me it could and so I asked Shelby to make sure it was truly fixed because st that point I spent well over 2,000 dollars for fixes. She said she would ensure it. So my car was fixed came back picked it up….not but 2 hours later from picking it up the light came back on…. I was furious. I had waged time, money and effort to get this car fixed. Thinking that I was in good hands with this mechanic I protested. When I got back I met a nice rep named Justin. He did his best to assure me they would get to the bottom of it. He turned around to a counter and asked the head mechanic a question to which the mechanic replied “I’m sure I don’t have the answer to” I grew incredibly weary from that response. He acted as if he has no care in the world and he has no care for nothing. I think his name was mike. Wel mike I need you to give a shit about what’s happening and he said “it’s Saturday, you know I don’t do anything until Monday” EXCUSE ME MIKE!!! But I’m gonna need you to give a damn a little this is my third time in here an you fixed nothing. So I was told to bring my car back Monday. Cool, will do. Monday rolled around and I noticed my check engine light turned off. I thought cool it’s gone mist have been a glitch. Buutttttt oh no was I wrong my light came on again a week later. I was so distraught and angry. Should I bring it back should I call. I thought no. Why would I. These crooks took everything from me why would I bring it back. So instead I took it to someone else in Marion. Who told me that ValMark dealership did nothing but guess what was wrong with my car. I have been swindled. I have been lied to. And now I have to spend an extra 3,000 dollars to fix what the he never fixed. Why???!!!! How can your Seth or department treat people like this. How can you treat someone who has served my country like this ???? All I wanted was to get my car fixed and have a reliable car but no…. Instead I was taken for all the hard money I earned. Not only have I fought for my country but I’m a single parent raising 3 kids on my own. I thought I could trust a dealership to make sure to have my back but I was sorely mistaken. I will make it my life’s mission to make sure this service department is destroyed and no one else will ever waste a penny on this place. And believe me you, I have the time. Because I served my time. Have the day you deserve ValMark service department.
